Another thing I realized while I was in Hawai’i: I need to go back to school. I’ve been so lost this year as far as school goes and I’m glad that I took the first step - saying out loud that I want to go back to school. I haven’t been able to commit to a graduate program which has been the other problem for me. I wasn’t sure I wanted to study social work in depth, however, now I’m starting to feel a little different. I was considering attending USC for their Military Social Work program but after attending the information session I just couldn’t justify the price of the school. I tried, I tried to not care about the amount of loans I would pull out for USC but I thought about it and knew I wouldn’t be able to handle any more debt. Now my plan is to attend a community college because I need a Statistics class to apply for the Social Work program at SDSU. While I wait, I’m going to study for the GRE and figure out if the Public Health/Social Work program is the one for me. But in the mean time, at least I made the promise to myself… I can’t let me down.
